The last attorney was correct, the process is much more formal. Most people come into my office immediately after they have been served with a complaint. It is very important to properly respond after you have been served with a complaint or you could lose rights without the opportuity to present a defense. In most, cases, the Plaintiff will attempt to secure a Judgment (after full process), so that the house could be sold. Depending on the County and the level of work the attorney completes, the process could be extended for several months from that point.
