What happens when a quit deed was done between separated spouses and the spouse owning the property stopped paying real estate

Answered on Dec 19, 2010

As long as you are no longer the owner, you will not have to pay. The lien or judgment would be enforced against the property.

However, you should check to make sure that you are no longer on the deed. Otherwise, even if it is enforced against the property, it could show up on your credit.
